Although prostitution is not just about Aboriginal people, Aboriginal women are particularly affected. They prostitute themselves to pay their rent, but also for their own consumption and often also that of their spouses. They also suffer a lot of abuse from customers who fled without paying, abuse them, etc.. Most often, they do not report these abuses, lack of esteem and considering they are not taken seriously by the authorities. GOVILLE (54) - Calvary Cemetery

Goviller The village, located a few miles northwest of Vézelise, has a wealth of interest as his church partly surrounded by its medieval old cemetery. In this last lies the plight of the seventeenth century. When

it appears before the cross mutilated in its upper part, it first discovers a crucifix and then, making the turn, the reverse has a Virgin. The erosion of the two saints is clearly visible; the Virgin has even lost his hands that was attached in prayer. Decorative scrolls complete the cross by supporting the small gabled roof and the horizontal bar. This modest

ordeal deserves to be preserved and is a witness, however small it may be, the past of Goviller ...

alert reaction to the draft Regulation to amend the Regulation respecting the selection of foreign nationals "

The Committee of Action against human trafficking domestically and internationally
(CATHII) reacts to the draft Regulation to amend the Regulation respecting the selection of foreign nationals , "Published in the Gazette officielle du Québec of 15 December 2010 and supports the position of the Front for the Defence of non-unionists (FDNS).

We believe that the recommendations of FDNS are effective measures to curb forced labor, a form of trafficking in human growth. In recent years, several organizations, including the CATHII, have expressed concerns about the programs of temporary foreign workers and forced labor. The RCMP, in a recent report on human trafficking in Canada, showed that migrant workers are generally more likely to be trafficked or subjected to operating conditions. It is therefore imperative that steps be taken to ensure that people who leave their country to work abroad have full access to their rights and are able to protect themselves against exploitation. The
CATHII believes that the amendments proposed by the FDNS can make a real difference.

TOUL (54) - The House at Sheep

The city of Toul is famous for its medieval heritage so. Strolling through the streets you can discover beautiful architectural relics of the past. At the heart of the historic city, Dr Denis street, at No. 4, is a beautiful Gothic door back to the thirteenth century with a tympanum depicting a sheep in relief flanked on either side of a shield decorated with a bird, a tree with flowers and the letter B and above another shield with the letter T recalling the original city of Toul. This shield has disappeared, leaving room for the number 4.

This door was included in the supplementary inventory of monuments Historic in 1939.

The owner of this house was perhaps related to the environment of sheep, ie sheep (there are sheep on the street a little further into the city, recalling that there were sheep). Was a tanner rich enough to afford a door carved tympanum?

Roundtable: Judgement Himel on prostitution and its impact on equality for all

The Coordination of the struggle against sexual exploitation (KEY) is organizing a roundtable discussion Monday, January 24, 2011 at 19:30, on the impact of the recent trial on prostitution.

The roundtable is an open event and will be held at the University of Quebec at Montreal, en DR-200, Pavilion Athanase-David located at 1440 rue St Denis (metro Berri-UQAM Montreal).

On September 28, the Superior Court of Ontario has responded to a request to completely decriminalize prostitution in Canada. Justice Susan Himel declared unconstitutional sections of the Canadian Criminal Code dealing with prostitution. "Following this ruling, the reactions in the media show a large gap between those defending the sex industry and feminists advocating an approach rooted in a critical analysis of this industry. We also observe that the media like people misunderstand what it means the complete decriminalization of prostitution. However, this ruling will have a significant impact on society as a whole and particularly on access to equality and to women's safety, "the press release. During the four speakers will offer business analysis on the decision to better understand the issues: Josée Bélisle, intervener Sexual Assault Help, representing the Regroupement québécois CALACS of Rachel Chagnon, a professor of legal sciences at UQAM, Diane Matte, community organizer, representative of the CLES and Christiane Pelchat, president of the Council on the Status of Women.

THOREY-LYAUTEY (54) - The Cascade of

By browsing the Internet I accidentally discovered the existence of the cascade of resistant (or skipping Brenon) Bernard's blog (thank you to him for his Photos frozen waterfall: http://flbd.over-blog.com/article-26946614.html and http://flbd.over-blog.com/article-26695994.html ).

I'm eager to go yesterday on site at the hamlet of Water resistant to discover the waterfall that is located below the road leading to Thorey Lyautey Ognéville since just after the small bridge spanning the Brenon. Hidden behind a farm building, the waterfall, all powerful, fell about 3 meters high. Simply superb! Obviously she has not the magnitude of the great waterfall Vosges Tendon ( http://patrimoine-de-lorraine.blogspot.com/2010/11/tendon-88-la-grande-cascade.html ) but still worth a visit ...

Liverdun Waterproof (54) - La Porte High

From its medieval fortified town of the Liverdun kept the Upper Gate. This witness is one of the finest examples of fortified gate in Lorraine. It is situated on a spur overlooking the valley of the Moselle.
Historical

What do we know the origin of fortifications Liverdun?

In 406 the city was besieged by the Vandals assume that leaving the city was surrounded by ramparts.

In 730, Arnold, one of the officers of Charles Martel, tried in vain to seize Liverdun, then shelter behind its walls.

From 1165 to 1182, the Bishop of Toul Peter Brixey (1167-1192) rebuilt the castle and ramparts to guard against a possible attack on the Duke of Lorraine, Mathieu 1 (1139-1176) and Bishop of Verdun, Richard III Crisse (1163-1171).

In 1365, the Bishop of Toul, John Heu (1363-1372), placed armed men in his city of Liverdun at a time when insecurity grew. La Porte High-then greeted a small garrison.

In 1436, the walls were repaired and strengthened on orders of the Bishop of Toul, Henri II de Ville-sur-Illon (1409-1436).

Despite the restoration and strengthening of fortifications Liverdun, the city was taken in 1460 by Theobald IX of Neuchâtel (1459-1469). This hand was to cons-carrer projects of the Duke of Lorraine, John II (1452-1470).

After six weeks of siege, the city was taken Liverdun, September 16, 1467, by men of Marshal de Lorraine, Jean de Fénétrange. The walls were dismantled.

In 1587, the troopers of the Duke of Bouillon, Robert Guillaume de la Marck (1559-1588), ravaged the region and took Liverdun, which seemed so devoid of part of its fortifications.

June 26, 1632, said the treaty was signed between Liverdun of Duke Charles IV of Lorraine (1625-1675) and the King of France, Louis XIII (1610-1643). The Duke of Lorraine took the opportunity to apply for rebuilding the walls of Liverdun. No one knows if it was done!

In 1702, the wooden drawbridge was replaced by a fixed bridge.

Gradually the town fell asleep Liverdun and its walls were left abandoned ... before a renaissance in the twentieth century.

Architecture

Contemporary castle of the bishops of Toul, built in the twelfth century, the High Gate belonged to the defensive system enclosing Liverdun.

It dates from the late fifteenth century with alterations in the sixteenth century. His access was formerly with a drawbridge now gone and replaced by a stone bridge stone, 1702.

The door is thus composed of a central hosting the opening round arch above which two grooves were arranged to receive the arms of the drawbridge; come Then the two towers, one round (left) and one square (right) surrounding the body. Harrow (now defunct) barring the door, served as defensive complement to the drawbridge.

Finally, the persistent gap on the left of the stone bridge was obviously not water! Right, the precipice was enough to deter potential attackers.
