Violence against women is unacceptable. It affects every day thousands of communities in Quebec, Canada and around the world. Since 1980, more than 583 aboriginal women have disappeared or been murdered in Canada. Despite rising violence, the federal government continues to cut funding to organizations that fight for dignity and recognition of indigenous women. Such a society that perpetuates sexism and racism do not suit us.
